Farmers' Market

The Farmers’ Market at Billings Forge was created in 2007 as a seasonal weekly market providing the residents of Billings Forge and the surrounding Frog Hollow neighborhood with access to fresh, local foods. The Farmers' Market creates a diverse meeting space to draw energy into Frog Hollow, particularly by engaging nearby capitol-area workers. Between 2008 and 2009, The Farmers’ Market doubled its sales to become Hartford’s largest farmers’ market. Our farmers and food artisans travel from all over Connecticut to sell their fresh, delicious goods directly to consumers. In addition to produce, fruits, and flowers the market also features delicious breads, fresh dairy, locally made Italian ice, eggs, jams, pickles, soaps, and locally roasted coffees. 2010 saw the addition of featured products from our own onsite garden! Please visit our vendors page to learn more about the families, artisans, and entrepreneurs who join us every week.

The Farmers' Market at Billings Forge is open year round. Our outdoor summer market (May through October) is held on Thursdays from 11:00am–2:00pm. Located on Broad Street between Capitol Avenue and Russ Street, the summer market spreads out over the large green space adjacent to the north side of the Firebox restaurant, where you'll discover our weekly farmers, music, artists, and crafters. Picnic tables are available – stay and enjoy your lunch! The indoor winter market (November to April) is open Thursdays from 11:00am - 2:00pm in The Studio at Billings Forge space at 563 Broad Street adjacent to Firebox parking lot. We continue to bring meat, cheese, coffee, breads, preserves, root and winter crop vegetables, and greenhouse-grown greens. Weekly specialty vendors bring everything from granola to healthy cleaning solutions.
